The Hardest Step

The Hardest Step

They say the first step, I don't think that's true.

I think the hardest thing is realizing that no one will do what you must. There isn't a Superman or Superwoman or any superhero that's going to come; no one is coming to do what it's your responsibility to do. And often, we sit around pontificating on what if we could and what if and what if; however, we don't realize that what will never come unless we move.

The hardest part is realizing that we have to move. Once we have resolved in our hearts that the only thing left to do is move, taking that first step is easy. Therefore the first step is not the hardest; it's resolving in your heart that you have to take the first step.

Understanding that no one is going to take that step for you. And that sometimes, some people are going to be against you taking that first step; meanwhile, there will be a tribe that is happy for you.

There will be individuals who aren't supportive or don't believe or don't think that you are capable enough; here lies the challenge. The first step isn't the hardest; it believes in yourself enough to take the first step. It's being bold enough to take the first step. It's being crazy enough to take the first step. Once you've done that, the first step is only the natural progression because faith without action is dead.
